“Sachin! Sachin! Sachin!” may still reverberate in our collective memory, but now all Sachin
wants to hear is… children’s laughter.
The Master Blaster and Schneider Electric India came together in 2015 like opening batsmen to begin a new innings- Spreading Happiness Indiya Foundation (SHIF). Their target was clear: use of digital tools, run by solar power, to make learning interactive and fun in government schools across rural and semi-urban India.

SMITA sessions based on tips to save electricity at homes and
schools along with waste management were conducted last
week. I got an opportunity to learn SMART tips to save
electricity, which I never learnt before. I have made some STEM
models in my class where I have used solar panels and got to
know the advantages of using solar panels. In the future, I would
like to understand more about saving power using solar panels.
I am looking forward to championship events in my school.

Students have been really encouraged to learn more by seeing the new infrastructure being developed in schools under the SMITA project. IEC materials along with videos have been really helpful in teaching student new content.
