he Saarthi Smart Cane is a next-generation mobility aid equipped with ultrasonic sensors for real-time obstacle detection, designed to assist visually impaired individuals in navigating independently and safely.
The ceremony was graced by Mr. S. Govindraja, Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, who attended as the Chief Guest. Mr. Praveen Ambastha, Deputy Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, was the Guest of Honor.
Mr. Sanjay Singh -Vice Chancellor of the Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) in Lucknow participated in the event and distributed the devices to the students.
Mrs Niyati Pattnaik, IAS - Director of the Department of Social security and empowerment of person with Disbalities, Mr. Sanyasi Behera Deputy Secretary, SSEPD and Mr Prashant Dash, General Secretary, Odisha Association of Blind participated and distributed 100 smart sarathi canes to visually impaired children.
